Jul. 16, 2007 2:08 a.m. Maybe I'm lacking the ability to understand their point of view... or something. "You're selfish. You're not going to start this marriage out very well being selfish. You only think about yourself. You should think about other people more than yourself." In as many words and ways courtesy of my parents. (Too bad I didn't elope... then they'd actually be on to something) "Oh, that's right, you think everything is about you" You know what. When you can stop thinking that I should be fulfilling your every wishes. When you can stop thinkig that I should be making our wedding all about you/family. When you can stop thinking that it's my duty in life to cater to your every demand, philosophy, belief, whathaveyou... THEN you might have some grounds for continuing to insist that I'm being selfish. Until then... Fuck Off. Responding with "You're selfish" to every disagreement we have will not only fail to get you anywhere, it just makes you a hypocrit.
