"A positive attitude will not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."

Update: Indeed it does. And this is one of the only types of annoying that I like to be.

Romans 14
(1) As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.
(2) One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables.
(3) Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.

Update: I wish I would have written this one down when I had the thought because I really don't remember it now.

Genesis 2
(18) Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him."
(19) So out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.
(20) The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.
(21) So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
(22) And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
(23) Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
(24) Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
(25) And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Update: Later on, the two figure out they're naked. Only after they eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil do they realize that they're naked. It made me think of a lot of things.

Out in places where they live naked, they don't "realize" a need to be clothed until another culture dictates it to them. Little children don't find nakedness "wrong" until they start to get older...

I wonder how many other things wouldn't be wrong if the fall of man hadn't happened.

Genesis 3
(16) To the woman he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you."
(22) Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever--"

Update: It's interesting the things that aren't as far fetched as some make them out to be.

Romans 15
(1) We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
(2) Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
(3) For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me."
(4) For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
(5) May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
(6) that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Update: So far, no one has said they disliked my lip ring... which I got basically because I wanted to.. only seconday is the statement I can make with it. The most anyone at church has done along the vein of disapproval is good-naturedly shake their head.

I do have more to say on all the above, but my wacked out schedule has me way too tired.
