The hole pierced in your side
The wounds placed in your hands
The thorns embedded in your crown
The truth of your love is sound

The spit covering your face
You who loved us took our place
Bleeding stripes covered your back
You paid the price where we lack

The anguish you feel at my rejection
Yet you’ve kept me for perfection
The bitterness you feel within your soul
As my sins build in endless toll

As the crowd continually clears

Please help me I entreat you Lord
I need your help, and so the raging river ford

I almost feel the pain of God’s own Son

Your love and care keep me alive
Until the glorious day that you arrive

Help me to make all preparation

And I love that mutilated broken body
Now sitting in its most glorified state
And I will continue to paint His picture
